The program seeks to educate and empower young leaders to explore the history and current work of urban planning, using the City of San Francisco as a living and breathing laboratory for knowledge and action. SF Young Planners learn the history, technical skills, and practical applications of the planning profession through an inquiry-based approach.
During the summer, interns are paired with department staff to work on a meaningful project under their mentorship and will contribute towards a meaningful final project that demonstrates their skills and competency as a young planner.
